1. Who we are
Vigil ("Service") is operated by IMR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PTY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15715075) . Our registered address is The Old Rectory, Church Street, Weybridge KT13 8DE, UK.
For the purposes of UK GDPR, we are the data controller for personal data collected through vigilmon.online. Any questions about this policy should be directed to privacy@vigilmon.online.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, hashed password when you register.
- Monitor configuration: URLs and settings you create to be monitored.
- Check results: response times, HTTP status codes, and availability logs generated by our probes.
- Billing data: invoicing name and, once Stripe payments go live, payment method tokens held by Stripe (we never store full card numbers).
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, IP address, browser type, and timestamps — collected via server logs and, with your consent, analytics cookies.
- Communications: any messages you send to our support team.
3. How we use your data

4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Functional (required): session cookies and CSRF tokens necessary for the application to work securely.
- Analytics (opt-in): anonymised usage statistics to help us understand how the service is used. These are only set after you consent.
- Marketing (opt-in): cookies used to measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns. Only set after you consent.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:
- Infrastructure providers: hosting, email delivery, and cloud services used to run Vigil. All processors have Data Processing Agreements in place.
- Stripe: payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data it holds as an independent controller.
- Legal authorities: when required by UK law, court order, or to protect the rights of users.
6. International transfers
Our servers are located in Europe. Some processors may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where this occurs we rely on the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or adequacy decisions, or equivalent safeguards, to ensure your data remains protected.
7. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, plus:
- Monitor check logs: rolling 90-day window.
- Billing records: 7 years to comply with UK tax law.
- Support correspondence: 2 years after last contact.
You can request earlier deletion by contacting us (see section 9).
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances.
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent for consent-based processing (e.g. analytics cookies) at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@vigilmon.online. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) .
